THE IMPACT
This project looks to impact Kingsley Motorsports as well as the local hill climb community. With the publishing of our work on social media, we hope to expose new people to the event.
Event Background
"The Colorado Hill Climb Association (CHCA) was founded in 1971 to promote “hill climb” racing in Colorado and surrounding states. The club’s first race was held in Los Alamos, NM. The CHCA was to be an off shoot of the famed Pikes Peak Hill Climb and a place for racers to test their cars, hone their skills and have a great time more than one race a year. Many of the original members were (and some still are) active throughout the past 52yrs throughout various race venues in the Pikes Peak region and beyond. The CHCA, while promoting the great sport of Automobile racing works hard with local community members, business, the Forest Service and law enforcement agencies throughout the state to host safe, competitive, and entertaining activities for racers and fans alike."

Reasons of the project
We set out to shoot for Andy Kingsley this weekend. This was the first race of the series and we wanted to start the summer off with a bang by heading out to Canon City for a local hill climb.
Saturday
Little rain to end the day
Saturday started off great! We had some smoke rolling in from a fire out in Canada so that played into some visibility challenges. Other than that, there was a bit of fog but it cleared shortly after we got there. As the day wrapped up we did get some rain as well, which made for some interesting last runs.

Smoke and Fog
As mentioned previously, we ran into a bit of haze from the Canadian fire. Most of the struggle with this had to do with the FPV drones. With the low visibility, it can make it impossible to fly. Luckily, things cleared up enough to where we could get up and get some chase footage.
FPV Footage
Chase cam
We ended up with some great FPV footage of the event. This style of aerials really captures the high intensity of the sport! Our five-inch drones were used for all the footage.
Videoagraphy
Ground footage
Landen was the man behind all the videography for the day. A ton of the clips he shot made it into the final edit for the weekend.
Photoagraphy
Speed in stills
Most of our time this weekend was spent shooting video but we were able to get some images captured.
